North Carolina Cotton: Stinkbug treatments seem to be holding

Treatments that were made last week for stinkbugs appear to be “holding” after rechecking today. We didn’t find any treated fields with damage over 10%. I’m sure some of the damage we found was old despite the fact we are trying to select properly sized fruit. Stinkbugs are still avoiding our nets and beat sheets.

Most fields that were not treated last week are at threshhold this week. There are still a few farms where we haven’t found any  damage.

Some of our earliest planted fields are in the 20-30% boll damage zone this week. These fields are progressing nicely and will be cutting out in less than 2 weeks.
