Corn planting should wrap up this week for growers in our area. Emerged fields are at the spike to 3 leaf stage.
Corn fields adjacent to wheat fields should be checked for stinkbug damage. I didn’t find any damage in fields I scouted today.
Now is also time to evaluate how well your planter performed. It doesn’t take long to to lose significant bushels due to skips and late emerging plants (5-8bu/a).
