I have started finding sporadic distributions of cereal leaf beetle eggs. We are no where close to treatable levels.
Leaf rust has also started showing up in certain areas of Hyde county. We will be treating an 80 acre farm tomorrow (west side of county)that has a moderately susceptible variety on it. This is an early treatment, no doubt. I feel the extened warm weather along with increased hours of leaf wetness warrant this treatment. Fields only 2 miles away are showing no sign of leaf rust. On the east side of the county I’ve found similar patterns and have been able to isolate fields that I’ll be watching closely.
